“I’m going to be selfish and point to the opening night. I had not realised that ‘TMB’ would be the only film playing, and for me, to have an opening ceremony center around a short animation by a local artist was very empowering. It elevated and highlighted my work in a very special way and I am very thankful for that. I have been invited to events at Alliance Française as a direct result of participating in the festival, potential funding bodies are more aware of my work, and I was offered some work as a result”.
